Carpet and Flooring Selections at One Source Flooring
It’s always a fun time with Andy and Deb and having them in our Showroom was no exception [it was certainly a highlight of 2023]! Welcomed by our beautiful and extensive range of carpets and flooring, Andy and Deb were guided by our Managing Director, Aaron—selecting the perfecting products and colours for the renovation. House 02 is finally HERE! Get excited as Andy and Deb get back into the swing of things with their biggest renovation project to date. Unearthed uses the wabi-sabi philosophy heavily throughout its design and décor – it’s all about embracing imperfections and creating a space that is authentic, functional, and calm. In Episode 1, watch as the dynamic duo introduce you to the home and renovate the upstairs entryway, mezzanine, study room, and two bedrooms. How One Source Flooring Helped Transform House 2
Engineered Oak Flooring
Classique Oak by Riverhill in colour, Natural
Andy and Deb were looking for a solution that not only suited the style of the home (neutrals and earthy tones), but also provided comfort underfoot. Classique Oak is inspired by nature and being engineered, provides designers with the opportunity to achieve a beautiful, natural look with the type of finish and texture you’d expect with real timber floors.
In House 2, the Engineered Oak flooring was installed throughout the living areas in both the lower and upper levels of the home as well as up the stairs and in the kitchen. To elevate the stairs and to complete the design in a way that this house truly deserves, the stair treads were finished with a brass insert—the perfect finishing touch.
Floor Preparation for Engineered Oak Flooring
With any flooring renovation, our team works hard to ensure that all our engineered planks are installed correctly—that includes ensuring that the subfloor is optimal. For House 2, this required some extra work grinding out bumps and feathering self-levelling compound. Found out more about our Floor Preparation Services by following the link below.
100% NZ Wool Carpet
Samurai by Bremworth in colour, Pyua
For the bedrooms, Andy and Deb selected a chunky loop carpet, Samurai by Bremworth in colour, Pyua. A 100% New Zealand wool carpet crafted by experts, Samurai has a unique structure and beautiful finish, making it a popular choice for Designers. Again, they went with soft, neutral tones, not only keeping the bedrooms cohesive with the rest of the home, but also bringing a relaxing sanctuary-type feel that every bedroom deserves.
What’s most impressive for us carpet lovers, is that Samurai comes in really long rolls. In the master bedroom [you’ll get to see this soon], a single roll was able to be used from the entry right through to their ensuite, ensuring no cuts of joins were visible as you take in the impressive size of the room. We’re so thrilled they chose us for their carpet supply and installation.
One Source Flooring Testimonial from Deb & Andy
We are thrilled with our experience working alongside One Source Flooring. This incredible company helped us transform House 02 for DNA of Design with its high quality, durable, and stylish flooring options.
We ended up choosing their Classique Oak Flooring in the gorgeous Natural Oak shade in several rooms in the home, including the study room, entryway, living room, dining area, kitchen, and mezzanine. The soft, organic tone of the panels and natural materials fit in perfectly with the wabi-sabi style of the home.
The Samurai Carpet in Pyua was another perfect choice for the bedrooms and media room, with its chunky loop structure that not only looks beautiful but feels amazing to walk on. Once again, its natural fibres blended with the natural vibes of the home, creating a cohesive look and feel. It’s also easy to clean and maintain, which is ideal for the wear and tear of everyday family life.
Overall, we cannot recommend One Source Flooring enough! Their products are truly exceptional and are backed by a wonderful team that exceeded our expectations in every way.

After this transformation, these spaces are unrecognisable! See how they seamlessly blend different textures and tones to create a cohesive look, bringing organic elements into the home. Textured tiles, gold accents, abstract shapes, concrete sinks, dual shower heads…There are endless pieces to get inspiration from for your own space!
Episode 3 - Kitchen, Laundry & Living Room Makeover!
Hey House 02, the 90s are calling and they want their kitchen back! In one of the biggest transformations yet, watch as Andy and Deb move the kitchen from upstairs to downstairs, taking old, dark mahogany doors and tired bench tops to luxe marble backsplash and counters and an oversized island bench. You’ll then see the duo give the living area a makeover, creating both a living room and sitting room so that parents can get away from the kids once in a while. Oh, and can’t forget about that 11 metre fireplace! There’s so much to see in this episode that every interior decorator and renovation-buff will love.
Episode 4 - Transforming the Outdoor Area
Andy and Deb are going out with a BANG in the last episode for House 02! Find out how they extended the side of the outdoor living space by utilising the large block of land, plus watch as they make the pool area flow better with the indoor space. From a mini shovel to a disastrous flying fox incident (which was definitely worth it), this episode doesn’t disappoint with plenty of laughs and gorgeous designs.
