Dental Fit-out Specialists, Dental Projects Group offer the highest quality dental surgery fit-outs in the area. Working as an extension of their team, we were tasked with providing quality flooring and expert installation on a job for The Dental Project in Wellington Point.
Function, work flow and infection control are of the upmost importance in the dental surgery design process [as well as being visually beautiful], and as such, the team needed the right flooring to fit the brief.
Client: Dental Projects Group collaboratively working on The Dental Project, Wellington Point
Area: Throughout the practice including the reception, treatment rooms and offices.
Products: Polyflor Expona Flow Vinyl Sheeting in Warm Grey Concrete to Surgery 1-6. Polyflor Expona Flow Vinyl Sheeting in Blond Pine to Steri Store and Staffroom. Interface HN820 carpet in Limestone to Reception, Hallways and remaining areas.
Purpose: New commercial dental clinic fit-out in collaboration with Dental Projects Group.
Perfecting the Base with Floor Preparation
Preparing the subfloor for this project was critical as vinyl sheeting requires a level and plane surface for proper installation. Our team levelled almost every room within the project including the halls, surgery rooms and more. Â
Creating a Cohesive Reception & Hallway
The Dental Project reception encapsulates all of the modern tones and textures that you could find in nature. Timber panelling, greenery and Limestone coloured carpet truly helps to bring the outdoors in, providing a peaceful space for their patients.
The project’s Designer selected Interface Human Nature Carpet Planks in Limestone.  Human Nature was designed as a beautiful foundation for rooms requiring skinnier, longer planks —perfect in making a space appear longer than it actually is. It is made of up to 81% total recycled content, including 100% recycled nylon made in part from reclaimed fishing nets.
Carpet Plank/Tile Benefits for Dental Professionals:
- They are extremely durable and are designed to withstand high-traffic areas.
- With a huge range of colours, there are plenty of options to tie your flooring design into your branding.
- Carpet tiles have the additional benefits of being easily replaced should individual tiles become damaged.Â
- Carpet Tiles are easy to clean due to their lower pile with less debris being trapped in the fibres.
Purpose-Built Dental Clinic Flooring
Surgery Rooms
The biggest consideration for our client was choosing a flooring solution that was going to be hygienic and meet Australian health and safety standards.Â
The Expona Flow collection by Polyflor was used within the surgery rooms, in colour warm grey concrete. Combining subtle tonal variations to add depth and detailing with a polished surface effect, this vinyl sheet gives the appearance of continuous poured concrete, giving the spaces a seamless floor finish.
Steri-Store & Staff Room
The Expona Flow collection by Polyflor was used within the Staff Room and Steri Store. Authentically replicating wood planks from a wide range of species, it has striking abstract effects in a practical and durable vinyl sheet format. The collection has been specifically developed for very heavy commercial installations including education, healthcare (including dental), office, retail and leisure sectors.
